We Children from Bahnhof Zoo season 1 episode 3, titled "Bowie," follows the turbulent journey of Christiane, a teenage drug addict living in Berlin. In this episode, Christiane meets a new friend named Benji, who introduces her to heroin, leading her down an even darker path.

As the episode begins, Christiane is struggling to cope with the consequences of her drug addiction. She's facing financial trouble and is at risk of getting kicked out of her apartment. In an effort to find a way to get her life back on track, Christiane turns to Katja, another friend from her past who used to sell drugs. But when Katja tells Christiane that she's no longer selling, Christiane turns to Benji, who offers to sell her heroin.

At first, Christiane is hesitant to try heroin. She's seen the dangers of the drug and knows that it can ruin lives. But as she spends more time with Benji, she begins to reconsider. She tells him that she wants to try the drug, and he sets up a time and place for her to do it.

When the day arrives, Christiane meets Benji in a park where they inject the drug together. At first, she feels euphoric and free. But as the drug takes hold, she quickly realizes that she's made a mistake. She feels powerless to control her actions and begins to panic.

The rest of the episode follows the aftermath of Christiane's first experience with heroin. She begins to use the drug regularly, even stealing from her mother to pay for it. Meanwhile, her relationship with her best friend Babsi deteriorates as Babsi becomes increasingly concerned about Christiane's drug use.

As Christiane descends further into addiction, she becomes increasingly isolated and alone. She spends most of her time with Benji and other drug users, stealing and lying to get her next fix. And despite her best intentions, she finds herself unable to quit.

Throughout the episode, the music of David Bowie is featured heavily, with characters listening to his music in clubs and on the radio. The music serves as a backdrop to the dark and dangerous world that Christiane finds herself in. And while Christiane initially identifies with Bowie's lyrics about rebellion and freedom, she quickly realizes that the life she's living is anything but free.

Overall, We Children from Bahnhof Zoo season 1 episode 3 is a harrowing and emotional look at the dangers of drug addiction. It's a powerful reminder of how easy it is to fall into the trap of addiction and how difficult it can be to escape. But even in the darkest of moments, there's always a glimmer of hope – and it's that hope that keeps Christiane (and the audience) going.
