Captain Crane and the crew of the Seaview are faced with a unique challenge in season 3 episode 17 of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. In "The Heat Monster," the crew is tasked with retrieving vital weather monitoring equipment from the bottom of the ocean, while also investigating strange readings that may indicate the presence of a dangerous lava flow.

As the situation becomes increasingly dire, tensions run high among the crew, and morale begins to suffer. But with their backs against the wall, the crew must come together and rely on their training and expertise to make it through the dangerous situation.
