The Journey is the fifth episode of the third season of Voltron: Legendary Defender. The episode is directed by Chris Palmer and written by Tim Hedrick.
The Paladins are on their journey to track down their ally, Prince Lotor, who has defected from the Galra Empire and has formed his own empire to challenge his father's reign. While on their search, the team discovers a planet that was destroyed by the Galra. They come across a lone survivor, a Galra engineer named Thace who decides to join the Paladins in their search for Lotor.
The team soon realizes that tracking down Lotor won't be as easy as they thought. Their enemy is always one step ahead of them, and at one point they are ambushed by a group of Galra soldiers led by a powerful commander. The Paladins use all their skills and teamwork to defeat the Galra soldiers and make it out alive.
During their journey, the team also faces some internal conflicts. Keith is still struggling to come to terms with his new leadership role, and tensions rise between him and Lance. Meanwhile, Pidge becomes fixated on finding her missing father and is willing to do anything to accomplish her mission.
As the Paladins continue on their journey, they discover a connection between Lotor and the planet that was destroyed by the Galra. They quickly realize that Lotor's plan is much bigger than they thought, and the stakes are higher than ever before. In this episode, the team must work quickly to come up with a plan to stop Lotor's sinister plot before it's too late.
