Ep 3. The Lost Child

The Lost Child is the third episode of season 1 of the show Vienna Blood. The show is set in Vienna in the early 1900s and follows Max Liebermann, a young doctor who is interested in studying human behavior, and Detective Inspector Oskar Rheinhardt, who is assigned to solve some of the most complex cases in Vienna.

In this episode, Max is approached by a woman named Charlotte von Hohenberg who wants him to find her lost daughter, Leonie. Meanwhile, Oskar and his team are investigating the murder of a man whose body was found in the Danube River. The man was a worker at a factory owned by Baroness Lili Schoen, who is a controversial figure in Vienna. Oskar suspects that the baroness may have had something to do with the murder, but he doesn't have enough evidence to prove it.

As Max starts to investigate the case of the missing child, he realizes that Charlotte von Hohenberg is hiding something. She seems more concerned with protecting her own reputation than finding her daughter. Max also learns that Leonie was not a happy child and often ran away from home. He starts to suspect that Leonie may have left of her own accord.

Max's investigation leads him to a seedy part of Vienna where he meets a man who claims to have seen Leonie. The man tells Max that he saw Leonie with a group of homeless children who live in the sewers under Vienna. Max decides to investigate further and he enlists the help of a young boy named Felix who knows the sewers well.

As Max and Felix explore the sewers, they find evidence that Leonie had been there recently. They also encounter a group of homeless children who are hostile towards them. Among the children is a girl who looks like she could be Leonie's twin sister. Max is shocked by the discovery and he realizes that Leonie's family may be hiding a dark secret.

Meanwhile, Oskar and his team are able to link the murdered factory worker to Baroness Lili Schoen. They discover that the baroness was involved in a labor dispute with the workers at her factory and that the murdered man was one of the leaders of the strike. Oskar is finally able to confront the baroness and he uncovers a shocking revelation about her past.

As the episode comes to a close, Max is able to find Leonie and bring her back to her mother. However, he is still haunted by the discovery he made in the sewers and he realizes that there is more to Leonie's story than initially meets the eye. The Lost Child is a thrilling episode that delves into the darker side of Vienna and reveals secrets that are best left hidden.
