Ep 1. Welcome to Varsity

In Video Game High School season 2 episode 1, Welcome to Varsity, the story continues with Brian D., who has just defeated The Law in the final match of the freshman year of VGHS. As Brian attends his first day in varsity, he meets his new teacher's assistant, Jenny Matrix, a top-league gamer who shattered many internet records. Along with being incredibly skilled, Jenny is also notorious for her infamous bad attitude, which leaves many of her admirers scared and intimidated. However, Brian sees something different in her and finds himself drawn towards her. He tries to befriend her but is met with Jeny's dismissive and condescending attitude.

Meanwhile, Brian's best friend Ted has a hard time letting go of his freshman year and adjusting to the new school campus. Initially resentful of his friends, Ted tries to get himself expelled from VGHS by intentionally breaking school rules. However, as he spends more time with Ashley, his romantic interest, Ted realizes that he needs to focus on what truly matters - his friends and their shared love for video games.

Apart from Brian and Ted, the series also focuses on some of the other new and familiar faces at VGHS. Ki Swan, who is now the captain of the junior varsity team, is determined to lead her team to victory while also dealing with her team members' personal life issues. On the other hand, The Law, who was defeated by Brian in the final freshman match, is now a varsity gamer and leads the Knights, VGHS' toughest rivals.
