The show Victorious, follows a group of talented young students attending Hollywood Arts, a performing arts school in Los Angeles. In season 4 episode 1, titled "The Blonde Squad", the focus is on Tori Vega (played by Victoria Justice), a talented singer and actress.
The episode begins with Tori getting ready for school while chatting with her friends on the phone. She notices that her hair has turned an odd shade of orange after a hair dye mishap, and decides to go to a nearby salon to get her hair fixed before school starts. At the salon, she meets two girls with bleach-blonde hair named Tara and Hayley. They compliment Tori's hair color and offer to help her fix it. Tori accepts their offer and ends up getting a new blonde hairstyle that makes her stand out from her friends.
Feeling confident with her new look, Tori auditions for a lead role in a school play with the help of her friends. However, she is disappointed to learn that the part has already been given to Tara, one of the girls she met at the salon. Tori is confused as to how Tara got the part considering her lack of experience and talent, but decides not to dwell on it and support her friend instead.
Tara, Hayley, and Tori soon become close friends, and Tori is even invited to join their exclusive group, "The Blonde Squad". However, Tori starts to feel uncomfortable with their cliquey behavior and their negative attitude towards non-blonde people. She tries to talk to them about it, but they brush her off and tell her to lighten up.
Meanwhile, Tori's best friend Andre (played by Leon Thomas III) is struggling to come up with a new song for a school project. With the help of another student, he decides to incorporate the sounds of various objects and create a unique song. Andre's project turns out to be a hit and he is invited to perform at a school assembly. However, his performance is interrupted by a group of blonde girls who start to mock him.
Tori realizes that she can no longer be friends with Tara and Hayley, and decides to leave "The Blonde Squad". She apologizes to Andre and her friends for not seeing the negative impact the group had on her behavior. In the end, Tori learns the importance of staying true to herself and standing up for what she believes in.
