Veronica Mars is a critically acclaimed television series about a high school student turned private investigator in the fictional town of Neptune, California. In season 2 episode 19, titled "Nevermind the Buttocks," Veronica finds herself investigating yet another mystery.
The episode begins with Veronica and Wallace attending a fundraiser for their school. Veronica spots her ex-boyfriend Duncan and his new girlfriend Meg across the room. However, her attention is soon diverted when she notices a group of boys laughing and pointing at something on the computer. Curious, she investigates and discovers that a sex tape of a popular student named Casey is circulating around the school.
Veronica agrees to take on the case, with Casey as her client. She begins by interviewing the people who have seen the video, but everyone claims to have received it anonymously. However, Veronica manages to obtain the original video file, which she believes could lead her to the person responsible.
Meanwhile, Veronica's father Keith is investigating the disappearance of a woman named Amelia DeLongpre. Amelia's husband is convinced that she is still alive and hires Keith to find her. Keith's investigations lead him to a seedy motel room where he discovers a hidden camera and a number of videotapes. He later shows the videos to Amelia's husband, revealing that his wife was having an affair.
Back at school, Veronica discovers that the person who uploaded the sex tape used a computer in the school's library. She investigates the student who was using the computer at the time and discovers that he is the son of the school janitor. It turns out that the janitor had found the sex tape and had uploaded it to get revenge on Casey for treating him poorly.
The episode ends with Veronica confronting Casey and telling her that the janitor was responsible for the sex tape. Casey is devastated and asks Veronica why she couldn't have just let it be. Veronica responds by saying that she couldn't let the janitor get away with his actions and that she had to do what was right.
Overall, "Nevermind the Buttocks" is a tense and emotional episode that deals with important issues such as revenge porn and the power dynamics between students and school staff. It also continues to develop the ongoing mystery of Amelia DeLongpre's disappearance, setting the stage for the remaining episodes of the season.
