VeggieTales is an animated children's series that has been delighting viewers for over 25 years. In 2005, the show released an episode titled "Duke and the Great Pie War," which was produced by Big Idea Productions. The episode features the beloved VeggieTales characters, including Larry the Cucumber, Bob the Tomato, and Madame Blueberry, as well as some new faces.

The episode begins with a story being told about a feud that has been ongoing for years between two kingdoms, the Rhubarbians and the Blueberries. The cause of the feud is a royal family heirloom, a golden pie plate, that has been passed down through generations.

The story then switches to present-day, where we meet Duke, a young asparagus who lives in the kingdom of Scone. Duke is in love with a young girl named Petunia, who is the daughter of the king of Scone. However, the king has arranged for Petunia to marry Duke's arch-nemesis, a French Pea named Countertop. Duke is heartbroken and feels that he has lost his chance at love.

Meanwhile, the Rhubarbian army, led by the evil Lord Scallion, is preparing to attack Scone in an attempt to steal the golden pie plate. Duke decides that he must do whatever it takes to protect his kingdom and impress Petunia, so he enlists the help of his trusty sidekick, a caterpillar named Lenny, and sets off to face the Rhubarbians.

As Duke and Lenny make their way to the battlefield, they run into a group of refugees who are fleeing from the fighting. Among them is a young girl named Sweetpea Beauty, who has been kidnapped by Lord Scallion and his army. Duke and Lenny decide that they must rescue Sweetpea and bring her back to her kingdom, despite the dangers that they may face.

After a daring mission to rescue Sweetpea, Duke and his friends return to Scone just in time to face off against the Rhubarbian army in a dramatic battle for the golden pie plate. Throughout the battle, Duke shows courage, loyalty, and bravery, and ultimately emerges victorious.

In the end, Duke is hailed as a hero and is reunited with Petunia, who realizes that she has always loved Duke and not Countertop. The two kingdoms also come to an understanding and call a truce, putting an end to the feud that had plagued them for so many years.

"Duke and the Great Pie War" is a heartwarming tale that teaches important lessons about love, courage, and forgiveness. The characters are endearing and relatable, and the animation is bright and colorful. The show also features catchy songs that kids will love to sing along to, such as "I Love My Lips" and "The Song of the Cebu."

Overall, "Duke and the Great Pie War" is a fantastic addition to the VeggieTales series that is sure to entertain and inspire young viewers. It is a perfect choice for parents who are looking for wholesome, family-friendly entertainment that teaches important values in a fun and engaging way.
