V was a science fiction television series that aired on ABC from 2009 to 2011. The show was a remake of the 1980s television miniseries of the same name. The series takes place in early 21st century Earth, where an alien race known as the “Visitors” have landed and made their presence known to humanity. The Visitors come in peace, claiming they want to help humanity with their advanced technology and medical cures. However, as they start to infiltrate the lives of the humans, it becomes clear that their true intentions are much more sinister.

The series follows a cast of characters who are affected by the Visitors’ arrival. Elizabeth Mitchell portrays Erica Evans, an FBI agent who becomes involved in the anti-Visitor resistance movement after her son joins the Visitors’ youth program. Morris Chestnut plays Ryan Nichols, a Visitor sleeper agent who becomes conflicted with his allegiances after falling in love with a human. Morena Baccarin portrays Anna, the leader of the Visitors who has a hidden agenda for why they have come to Earth. Joel Gretsch plays Father Jack Landry, a Catholic priest who becomes involved in the resistance after seeing the Visitors’ true nature firsthand. Laura Vandervoort plays Lisa, Anna’s daughter, who begins to question her mother’s intentions after falling in love with a human.

Logan Huffman portrays Tyler Evans, Erica’s son, who becomes seduced by the Visitors’ youth program and starts to become distant from his mother. Christopher Shyer plays Marcus, Anna’s second-in-command, who works to keep the Visitors’ secret agenda concealed from humans. Lourdes Benedicto plays Valerie, Ryan’s human wife who becomes pregnant with a hybrid child. Alan Tudyk plays Dale Maddox, Erica’s partner at the FBI who becomes involved in the anti-Visitor resistance. Mark Hildreth plays Joshua, a Visitor scientist who becomes integral in the resistance’s plot against the Visitors.

Other cast members include Zak Santiago as Dr. Sanjay Desai, a scientist who works with the Visitors, Nicholas Lea as Joe Evans, Erica’s ex-husband and Tyler’s father, Oded Fehr as Eli Cohn, the leader of the resistance movement, Michelle Harrison as Valerie’s sister, Barbara Tyson as Ryan’s boss, Ryan Kennedy as Joshua’s son, and Jane Badler as Diana, the leader of the Visitors in the original miniseries who makes a cameo appearance in the second season. Martin Cummins and Lucie Borhyov also join the cast in the second season as new characters.

Throughout the series, the cast of characters navigate the dangers and mysteries of the Visitors’ arrival on Earth. As the Visitors’ true intentions become more apparent, the resistance movement grows stronger, and alliances are formed and broken. The show explores themes of fear, trust, loyalty, and what it means to be human. The second season of the series brings new challenges and characters to the mix, as the visitors' plot begins to intensify in the war on human thoughts and emotions.

V received mixed reviews during its run, with praise for the performances of the cast and the show’s writing, but also criticism for its pacing and lack of action. Despite a dedicated fan base, the series was canceled after two seasons due to declining ratings. The show still remains a cult classic among science fiction fans for its exploration of themes and its strong performances by the cast.

V is a series that ran for 2 seasons (30 episodes) between November 3, 2009 and on ABC
