Ep 3. Real Wind, Real Sea
- October 30, 2003
Upon waking up, the team finds that they have washed up on an uninhabited island. With their limited supplies, they must find a way to survive until rescue arrives. However, tensions rise as Haruo fails to properly ration the food and water. As a result, they are forced to search for other sources of sustenance. While trying to catch some fish, the team comes across an old fishing net and a message in a bottle. In the message, they learn that the island has been abandoned due to strong storms that often hit the area.
As a storm approaches, the team becomes anxious and worried about their safety. They build a shelter out of bamboo to protect themselves from the strong winds and rain. During the storm, Luna's injured foot becomes infected and she falls into a fever. Kanata, Howard, and Shingo scramble to find medical supplies to save her life. They come across a wild plant with medicinal properties and use it to make a poultice for Luna's foot.
After the storm passes, the team realizes that their water supply has been contaminated by the seawater. They are forced to find a new source of water. They eventually come across a freshwater spring and are able to replenish their water supply. As they continue to search the island, they find an old radio and manage to repair it. They broadcast a distress signal, hoping to be rescued.
Throughout the episode, the team faces not only physical challenges but also emotional ones. They must confront their fears, work together, and find a way to endure the hardships of being stranded on an uninhabited planet. As they struggle to survive, they also face the realization that they may never be rescued, and that they must make a new life for themselves on the island.
In the end, they manage to overcome their obstacles and come out stronger as a team. They learn to rely on each other and value the importance of perseverance and adaptability in the face of adversity.
