In Unikitty! season 3 episode 2, titled STOP THE PRESSES, chaos abounds in the kingdom of Unikingdom when a newspaper begins spreading rumors and fake news about everyone. The show's titular character, Unikitty, and her friends must put a stop to the misinformation before it completely ruins the kingdom.
Things start going haywire in Unikingdom when the Daily Nubbin newspaper begins reporting on rumors and lies about prominent figures in the community. Nobody seems to believe the stories at first, but as tensions mount and tempers flare, it becomes clear that the newspaper is causing serious damage to the reputation of its targets.
Unikitty is one of the first victims of the newspaper's malfeasance. She's depicted as an insane ruler who is completely out of touch with her subjects, leading most of the town to believe she's gone mad with power. Of course, none of that is true, but it's difficult to convince everyone otherwise when the headlines keep piling up.
Despite the best efforts of Unikitty and her friends, the Daily Nubbin keeps churning out false stories at an alarming rate. The newspaper's editor seems to have no qualms about lying and spreading falsehoods to achieve his own ends, and it's up to the gang to stop him.
Along the way, we get to see some of our favorite characters get involved in the investigation. Master Frown and Brock get tasked with infiltrating the newspaper's offices to dig up dirt on the editor, while Puppycorn and the gang try to set the record straight by starting their own newspaper.
As is typical with Unikitty!, much of the episode is lighthearted and silly, with lots of puns and slapstick humor. But underneath it all, there's a serious message about the dangers of misinformation and the importance of distinguishing fact from fiction.
Some of the gags in the episode might fly over the heads of younger viewers, but for adults watching along with their kids, there are plenty of clever jokes and references that will keep them entertained. Overall, STOP THE PRESSES is a fun-filled romp that manages to convey a serious message without ever feeling heavy-handed or preachy.
Fans of Unikitty! are sure to enjoy this episode, which features all of the show's trademark humor and heart. Whether you're a longtime fan of the series or a newcomer looking to get in on the fun, there's plenty here to keep you engaged and entertained.
