Ep 15. The Following Sea

Carrie and Al investigate a homicide in the Hamptons, as the victim's mother begs Carrie to take the case. The victim, a well-known surfer, had disappeared for several months after a serious surfing accident. Now, he has been found dead, and his mother is convinced that someone who befriended her son while he was working at a burger joint is responsible. Carrie discovers that the young surfer had been treating his pain from the injury with prescription medication, and she follows a lead to a local beach town where she discovers that he had developed a relationship with a beautiful surfer who is part of a group of adventurous young people who take on big waves for fun. As Carrie gets closer to getting to the bottom of the case, however, she soon realizes that the group is hiding some dark secrets and that the case is much bigger than she had thought. As the investigation progresses, new clues emerge, leading Carrie and Al down a dangerous path where they find out more about themselves than they would have ever expected.
