Kelly confides in Addie that she's been feeling left out by her group of friends lately. Wanting to help, Addie suggests they all go to the school dance together as a group to rekindle their friendship. However, the plan hits a snag when they all start arguing over who the group should include. Meanwhile, Addie's crush Jake asks her to the dance, but she's torn between going with him or sticking to her original plan of going with her friends.
As the episode begins, Addie and Kelly are hanging out at Addie's house when Kelly expresses her frustrations about feeling excluded. Addie empathizes with her and suggests they come up with a plan to bring their group of friends back together. They decide that going to the school dance as a group might help mend their relationships and create a sense of unity.
Excited about the idea, Addie approaches Geena and Zack, two of their mutual friends, with the suggestion. They both agree but mention that their friend, Maris, might not be on board due to some recent disagreements. Addie insists on including her, believing that the dance could be an opportunity for them to resolve their issues.
The next day at school, Addie poses the idea to Maris, who seems hesitant but ultimately agrees to join them at the dance. The group of friends is now complete, or so they think. When Addie mentions the idea to Jen, another member of their friend group, Jen confesses that she had already planned to go with another friend, Megan, whom the rest of the group dislikes. This revelation creates a rift among the friends as they debate whether or not to include Megan in their plans.
Addie finds herself torn between her loyalty to her friends and her desire to include everyone. While she understands the others' concerns about Megan, she feels compelled to find a way to include her as well. This decision becomes even more difficult when Jake, the boy she has a crush on, approaches her and asks her to the dance. Now, Addie must navigate her feelings for Jake while also trying to keep her friends happy.
As the days go by, tensions within the group escalate. Arguments erupt over Megan's inclusion, and Kelly worries that their plan to reunite their friends is falling apart. Meanwhile, Addie tries to figure out what she truly wants. Should she go to the dance with her friends, making compromises and including everyone, or should she give in to her feelings for Jake and go with him instead?
With the dance fast approaching, Addie decides to have an honest conversation with her friends. She expresses her concerns about the group falling apart and suggests finding a compromise that includes Megan without alienating the rest of the group. Inspired by Addie's heartfelt plea, the friends agree to set aside their differences for the sake of their friendship and give Megan a chance.
As the night of the dance arrives, the group surprises Megan by showing up at her house to invite her. Overjoyed, Megan accepts and joins them. At the dance, they all dance and have a great time together, realizing that their friendship is stronger when they can set aside their differences and accept each other's choices.
