Ultraman Mebius is a side story spinoff of the Ultraman Mebius TV series. The series consists of six episodes and was released on DVD and Blu-ray in Japan in 2009. The spinoff was produced by Tsuburaya Productions, with Masahiro Tsuburaya as the director. The story of Ultraman Mebius: Side Story follows Ultraman Mebius, a giant alien hero who defends Earth from various monsters. The series is set after the events of the main Ultraman Mebius series and features a new threat to Earth.

One of the main characters in the series is Ryu Aihara, a member of the GUYS (Global Unlimited Task Squad) organization, which assists Ultraman Mebius in his missions. Ryu's father, Gen Aihara, was a scientist who worked on the development of a device called the Night Raider, which allowed Ultraman Mebius to transform into his powerful Burning Brave form.

The first episode of Ultraman Mebius: Side Story introduces a new enemy, the Alien Barusu. The Alien Barusu is a member of the Barusu Race, a group of aliens that invaded Earth in the past but were defeated by Ultraman Mebius and his allies. The Alien Barusu seeks revenge on Ultraman Mebius and the people of Earth and attempts to resurrect monsters from the Barusu Race's home world to destroy the planet.

As the series progresses, Ultraman Mebius and the GUYS team uncover the Alien Barusu's plan and work to stop him. The threat becomes more serious when the Alien Barusu unveils a powerful new monster that is capable of destroying Ultraman Mebius and his allies.

Ultraman Mebius: Side Story features exciting action sequences, as well as character development for Ryu Aihara and the other members of the GUYS team. The series also expands on the mythology of the Ultraman Mebius universe, providing more information about the Night Raider device and the Barusu Race.

Overall, Ultraman Mebius: Side Story is a thrilling addition to the Ultraman Mebius franchise, featuring new villains and challenges for Ultraman Mebius and his team to overcome. Fans of the main Ultraman Mebius series will enjoy this spinoff, as well as those who enjoy tokusatsu and giant hero shows.
