Betty Suarez is back to her old job at Mode after the sudden departure of Daniel Meade and many other high level corporate staff members. But her life at work is still complicated as she is constantly being tested by her colleagues.
In episode 18 of the show Ugly Betty, entitled "Don't Ask, Don't Tell", Betty struggles with her feelings for Henry, the accountant at Mode who is engaged to a woman named Charlie. She is way too busy to even think about having a relationship as she is working to create a new issue of the magazine in just three days.
As Betty works to get the new issue of the magazine to the printers, she has to deal with Amanda, who is now the fashion assistant at Mode. Amanda is struggling to come to terms with her own past and her mother's true identity. Betty tries to help her in any way possible as she knows what it's like to have secrets that can be harmful for anyone.
At the same time, Betty's boss, Wilhelmina, has to deal with her own issue as she tries to cover her tracks on a disreputable interview. Her daughter, Nico, is the one who reminds her of how it feels to be mindlessly exploited, inspiring her mother to do the right thing.
Meanwhile, Betty's friend and co-worker, Christina, has been dealing with her own set of issues as she tries to help out her sister who's been arrested for prostitution. Christina is the only one who knows about her sister's secret life, and when Betty finds out she offers to help Christina in any way she can.
But the most pressing issue for Betty is her own, as she continues to struggle with her feelings for Henry, the man she's fallen in love with. When Charlie invites Betty over to discuss the wedding plans with her, Betty is forced to confront her true feelings for Henry and her own moral standards. Betty must come to terms with the fact that Henry is engaged and he should honor his commitment to Charlie, and while it is difficult, Betty decides to do the right thing and confront her feelings head on.
