Two Weeks to Live follows the story of Kim Stokes, a young woman who has spent her entire life living off the grid with her mother in rural Scotland. When her mother dies in a tragic accident, Kim sets out on a mission to avenge her mother's death by tracking down her mother's killer and taking revenge.
The first episode of the series, aptly titled "Episode 1," introduces us to Kim as a grown woman still living with her mother in their remote cabin. We learn that Kim is socially awkward and has very limited knowledge about the world outside of her isolated existence. However, when her mother reveals to her that the world is about to end in two weeks, Kim takes the opportunity to finally experience the outside world before the apocalypse arrives.
With the help of her new friend, Nicky, a slightly bumbling but well-meaning young man, Kim embarks on a journey to complete her late mother's bucket list of experiences before their supposed end of the world. This includes things like trying a burger, going to a party, and even getting a tattoo.
Though the first episode is focused mainly on setting up the story and introducing us to the characters, it still manages to be full of action and intrigue. Suspense builds as we see Kim and Nicky being followed by mysterious men in suits who seem to have an interest in them. This adds an element of danger to their otherwise lighthearted adventures.
As the episode progresses, we also get a glimpse into Kim's traumatic past and the reasons behind her mother's extreme survivalist lifestyle. Flashbacks show us a young Kim witnessing her father's murder at the hands of a group of men, presumably the same men who are now following her.
Overall, "Episode 1" of Two Weeks to Live is an entertaining and engaging start to the series. It sets the stage for what promises to be an exciting and action-packed journey for Kim and Nicky as they navigate the world outside of their secluded life and seek revenge for Kim's mother's death. The episode introduces us to interesting characters and raises questions that we can't wait to see answered in future episodes.
