Charlie Harper, a playboy and jingle writer, is still living in his Malibu beach house with his nephew Jake Harper, and his housekeeper Berta. Charlie's brother Alan Harper frequently visits with his son Jake after Alan's divorce with his wife Judith. In season 4 episode 15 of Two and a Half Men titled My Damn Stalker, Charlie's life enters a twisted turn when he meets Rose, his stalker.
Charlie breaks up with his girlfriend Mia as she invites him to meet her mother, but he's too scared to commit to a serious relationship. In the midst of his breakup, he meets Rose, a pretty girl, at the beach and they hit it off well. Charlie believes he's found the solution to his loneliness in Rose, but things take an unexpected turn when she begins showing up at his house uninvited.
Initially, Charlie is flattered by her attention but he soon finds Rose's behavior excessively obsessive and borders on the line of insanity. She even goes to Madeline's Kinerotherapy office pretending to be Charlie's ex-girlfriend. Charlie tries to let her down easy, but Rose is not ready to give up. Her attempts to become closer to Charlie become more obnoxious and she even goes as far as breaking into his house to take photos of herself with his possessions.
Charlie's attempts to turn down Rose's advances are met with violent reactions, and he is unsure of how to stop her from stalking him. He even goes to the extreme of hiring a private investigator to track her down. Meanwhile, Alan and Jake spend some quality time together at a Dodgers game.
After a series of unsuccessful attempts to stop Rose from stalking him, Charlie finally comes to terms with the fact that he has to file a restraining order. With the help of his lawyer, he files for the order and hopes that Rose gets the message.
In the end, Rose is finally gone out of Charlie's life. However, the episode ends with Rose staring at Charlie through his window, leaving viewers unsure if her departure was final.
My Damn Stalker is a comedic episode with a touch of thriller as viewers are left on the edge of their seats wondering how far Rose will go to get her obsession met. It's a psychological battle between two people with different needs and wants, and while it's predominantly funny, it also highlights the concern that obsessive behavior can lead to physical harm.
