To Serve and Pawtect is the seventh episode of the first season of Turner & Hooch. In this episode, a group of thieves break into the US Marshals' evidence locker and steal a dangerous chemical weapon. Scott and his team, including Hooch, are asked to help track down the stolen weapon before it can be used in a terrorist attack.

Meanwhile, Erica has a new boyfriend, Matt, who is a canine psychologist. She introduces him to Hooch, and while Matt is initially apprehensive about the large dog, he soon discovers that Hooch is incredibly well-trained and friendly. As they spend more time together, Matt and Hooch develop a bond, and Matt even helps teach Hooch a new trick.

As they continue their investigation, Scott and Hooch come across a lead that takes them to a small town outside of San Francisco. They soon discover that the thief behind the heist is someone they had previously arrested, and who had sworn revenge on Scott. The thief has teamed up with a group of extremists who plan to release the chemical weapon in a crowded area of the city.

Scott and Hooch rush back to San Francisco to stop the terrorists, but they are outnumbered and outgunned. When it seems all hope is lost, Matt and Erica show up with a group of therapy dogs trained to detect the chemical weapon. Together, they are able to locate the weapon and prevent it from being released, saving countless lives.

The episode ends with Matt and Hooch playing together in the park, while Scott and Erica share a moment of mutual respect and appreciation. They all agree that, while their jobs may be dangerous and difficult, it's moments like these that make it all worth it.
