In the series premiere of True Jackson, VP, we are introduced to the talented and fashionable 15-year-old protagonist True Jackson, played by Keke Palmer. True is a high school student with a passion for fashion, who dreams of working in the fashion industry someday. Her life changes dramatically when she lands a job as the Vice President of Mad Style, a fashion company, after being discovered by the company's eccentric founder, Max Madigan, played by Greg Proops.

The episode begins with True's normal school day routine, where she is seen sketching designs during her class presentations. However, her day takes an exciting turn when she receives an invitation to attend Mad Style's fashion show, which is being held at her school. True is thrilled to attend and has the opportunity to meet Max Madigan in person. Although Max appears to be a bit unpredictable, True finds him delightful.

After meeting True, Max is impressed by her designs and offers her a job as the Vice President of the company. True jumps at the chance but is hesitant to accept as she initially thinks it's a joke. However, Max assures her that it's real and encourages her to seize the opportunity. Soon, True finds herself caught in the middle of corporate rivalry as Max's arch-rival, Lulu Johnson, played by Ashley Argota, tries to sabotage her at every turn.

True's new job comes with its challenges, including dealing with a dishonest employee, Jimmy, played by Robbie Amell, who is quickly fired for stealing a design. True is also tasked with creating a new design for Mad Style's upcoming show when Max implies that her previous designs were inferior. True realizes that she has a lot to learn and that she has to keep up with the demanding fashion industry's pace. She gets by with the help of her new friends at work, including the receptionist, Amanda Cantwell, played by Danielle Bisutti, and the head designer, Oscar, played by Ron Butler.

True has to balance her school life and her new job, which prove to be quite tricky at times. However, True's determination and innovative ideas help her succeed at Mad Style, and she begins to grow more confident and assertive. The episode ends with True's designs being showcased at Mad Style's fashion show, where she impresses Max and proves her worth as VP.
