Sookie is still reeling from the attack on her and Bill's home. Tara is worried about Sookie's state of mind and her safety and urges her to stay at her place. Sookie refuses and returns to her house, only to find that it's been completely ransacked. Bill, who had been away on vampire business, arrives and helps Sookie investigate the incident. They discover that the culprits were werewolves, and Bill suspects that they may be working with Russell Edgington, the vampire king of Mississippi.
Meanwhile, Sam is dealing with troubles of his own. His brother Tommy, who he is not on good terms with, shows up at his trailer looking for a place to crash. Sam reluctantly allows him to stay. However, Tommy's presence causes tension and leads to a violent altercation between the two brothers.
Jessica, Bill's vampire progeny, is also having problems. Hoyt, her human boyfriend, is struggling to come to terms with her being a vampire and has started hanging out with a group of anti-vampire protesters. He brings Jessica along to one of their meetings, hoping to convince her to give up her vampirism. However, things quickly turn ugly when the group begins to attack her.
Elsewhere, Lafayette is suffering from strange visions. He sees strange creatures and is haunted by the ghosts of his past. He confides in Jesus, a new love interest, who senses that there may be something supernatural causing Lafayette's visions.
As the episode progresses, it becomes clear that there's a lot of trouble brewing in Bon Temps. The werewolf attack, the tension between Sam and Tommy, the anti-vampire protesters, and Lafayette's visions are all signs of something dark on the horizon. The episode ends on a cliffhanger, leaving audiences on edge and eagerly anticipating what will happen next.
