In the third episode of season one of Tropical Heat, titled Death's a Beach, we find our protagonist, private investigator Nick Slaughter, investigating the mysterious death of a young woman found on the beach. Initially, the police rule her death as a suicide, but Slaughter believes there may be more to the story.
As he delves deeper into the case, Slaughter meets the victim's father, who suspects foul play and enlists Slaughter's help in finding out what really happened to his daughter. Slaughter and his partner, Sylvie Girard, discover that the victim had recently quit her job at a hotel and had been involved in a romantic relationship with the hotel's owner, Elias. Meanwhile, he and Girard must navigate their growing attraction to each other while navigating the dangerous and unpredictable world of their investigation.
The episode builds to a climactic confrontation between Slaughter and the island's criminal underworld, leading to a surprising revelation about the true nature of the victim's death.
