In Treehouse Masters season 3 episode 9, entitled "Country Superstar Speakeasy," host Pete Nelson and his team take on a unique challenge – creating a speakeasy-style treehouse for country music superstar Zac Brown.
The episode begins with Pete meeting Zac at his sprawling property in Georgia, where they discuss his vision for the treehouse. Zac expresses his desire for a secret entrance, cozy seating areas, and a bar – all wrapped up in a Prohibition-era aesthetic.
From there, the team gets to work creating a two-story treehouse with a hidden entrance that requires a password to enter. The outside of the treehouse is designed to look like a dilapidated old barn, with weathered wood, rusty metal accents, and a "moonshine" still on the roof.
Once inside, guests are transported to a different world – one that wouldn't be out of place in the roaring twenties. The walls are covered in vintage tin tiles, and the furniture is upholstered in rich leather and velvet fabrics. A custom-built bar sits in the corner, complete with a kegerator and brass taps.
But the real star of the treehouse is the stage, where Zac and his band can perform for a select group of lucky guests. The stage is decorated with old-fashioned marquee lights and a vintage microphone, and the audience can enjoy the show from comfortable leather lounge chairs.
Throughout the episode, there are plenty of challenges for the team to overcome. The tree where the treehouse is being built is tall and skinny, making it difficult to build on. The team also has to contend with a pesky wasp nest, high winds, and the logistics of building a secret entrance that's both functional and stylish.
But despite these obstacles, the team manages to complete the treehouse on time and on budget. The finished product is a stunning tribute to the Prohibition era, with all the modern comforts you could ask for.
Overall, "Country Superstar Speakeasy" is a fun, entertaining episode of Treehouse Masters that showcases the team's creativity and skill. Fans of Zac Brown and country music in general will definitely enjoy seeing him collaborate with Pete Nelson on this one-of-a-kind project.
