Ep 9. Conkerball Run

Tom and his friends return in Tree Fu Tom season 2 episode 9 entitled "Conkerball Run". In this episode, the magical world of Treetopolis has an exciting new sport called "Conkerball" and Tom is eager to participate. The sport combines elements of soccer and dodgeball with conkers (or horse chestnuts) as the ball.

Tom, Zigzoo, and Squirt are chosen to represent Treetopolis in the annual Conkerball Run tournament. Their opponents are teams from all over the forest. The trio learns that this is not just any other game, as the team that wins also gains the right to choose a new tree costume for all tree sprites to wear during the next Treetop Festival.

The first match against the Pinky Pines turns out to be quite challenging. Tom and the others find out that the Pinky Pines have a secret weapon, a giant squirrel named Scooter. Scooter is fast and nimble. He can run on the ground, climb trees, and leap high into the air. Scooter manages to score the first goal for the Pinky Pines, leaving Tom and his friends feeling nervous about their chances of winning.

Tom doesn't give up, though. He comes up with a game plan that involves using their tree talent, "whirligig". Tom gets Squirt to concentrate on using his whirligig to create a whirlwind which lifts him up and carries him to the other end of the field. Tom then jumps on a conker and bounces on the whirlwind creating a spinning shot towards the goal. The Pinky Pines goalkeeper is not used to such a powerful shot and the ball flies into the goal to tie the score.

The game continues, and both teams put up a great fight. The Pinky Pines try to use Scooter to their advantage, but Tom, Zigzoo, and Squirt are able to outsmart them by using their Treetop magic. In the end, Tom and his friends manage to score the final goal, winning the match and moving on to the next round.

The second round sees Tom and his friends against the troll team from Trollewood Forest. The trolls are known to be rough and tough, and they use their strength to their advantage. In this match, Tom and his team struggle to keep up with the trolls. However, with their quick thinking and resourcefulness, they manage to come out on top. They use the trees around the field to create a barricade, preventing the trolls from getting to the goal. Squirt uses his water magic to create a slippery surface which makes it hard for the trolls to move forward. Zigzoo, meanwhile, hides behind a bush to surprise the trolls and steal the ball.

The final round is against the undefeated Gibberin Goblins, who have won the Conkerball Run tournament for the past three years. The Goblins are a skilled team with one player, Snare, who has an incredible ability to catch the conker with his tail. Tom and his team try their best to keep up with the Goblins, but Snare manages to catch the conker time and again, frustrating Tom and his followers.

The game becomes very intense, and both teams give it their all. Zigzoo comes up with a clever plan and creates a decoy conker using his magic. Snare falls for the trick, and Zigzoo steals the real conker enabling Tom to score the winning goal.

"Conkerball Run" is a fun and exciting episode of Tree Fu Tom that not only showcases the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship but also highlights the use of creativity and innovation in the face of challenges. The episode also reinforces Tom's motto "Big World Magic" which reminds viewers that anything is possible with a little imagination and skill.
