In Tree Fu Tom season 1 episode 2, titled "Hide and Squeak," our hero Tom and his best friend Twigs are on a mission to save the day once again. In this episode, the pair are helping a group of baby animals who are afraid of a spooky creature lurking in the woods, which turns out to be just a harmless old owl.
As they venture through the forest, Tom and Twigs come across different animals who give them clues on how to find the missing babies. They meet a hedgehog who tells them to follow the path of the peanuts to reach the hiding spot of the babies who are also searching for the same thing. They eventually come across the peanut trees and then watch as a squirrel joins them.
Together, the three friends set out on their quest and face numerous challenges along the way. One such obstacle is a giant spiderweb that Tom has to help his friends get through safely. It takes all of Tom's skill, coordination, and magical powers to navigate through the web and avoid getting entangled in the sticky strands.
Once they reach the destination, they discover the babies are hiding near the owl, scared of her hoots and tufts. As Tom figures out a way to communicate with the owl, he realises that the owl is actually trying to help the babies by scaring away predators.
Tom then has a brainwave and comes up with a plan to help the babies learn to fly and evade dangerous animals, while they're journeying to their new hiding spots. He creates a "hide and squeak" game, where the babies would learn to fly by being challenged by other predators. They start practising the game, and everyone is happy with the outcome.
The episode concludes as Tom and his friends sit around enjoying some peanuts. But before they can finish their snacks, they're called off to another adventure, signifying that Tom's work never ends.
