The show Travelers season 1 episode 6, entitled Helios-685, follows the story of the travelers as they try to prevent a catastrophic event that could result in the death of millions of people.
The episode starts with Trevor Granderson (Jared Abrahamson) checking on Philip Pearson (Reilly Dolman), who is still recovering from his overdose. Marcy Warton (MacKenzie Porter) is also present, helping out with his treatment. After Trevor leaves, Marcy notices a message on his computer screen from an unknown source. The message reads "Helios-685."
Meanwhile, FBI Special Agent Grant MacLaren (Eric McCormack) and his team, including fellow traveler Carly Shannon (Nesta Cooper), investigate a case involving a man named Ellis (Ian Tracey) who has been on a crime spree, robbing convenience stores to pay for his son's medical care. However, things take a turn when Ellis kidnaps a doctor who has been experimenting with a new form of radiation therapy.
Back at the base, the team discusses the message Trevor received and concludes that it is a warning about the impending danger of the solar flare. The team devises a plan to stop the disaster, but it requires Marcy to infiltrate a company called Helios, which has been experimenting with a device designed to absorb the energy released by the flare.
Marcy manages to get a job at Helios and befriends an engineer named Boyd (Joel Collins) who is working on the device. She discovers that the device is incomplete and therefore, useless. Marcy returns to the base and informs the team that they need to find and recruit Boyd.
In the meantime, Ellis takes the doctor to the top of a building and straps the device to his body. He then threatens to jump off the building, which would release the energy that the device has absorbed and cause a massive explosion.
The team arrives just in time to stop Ellis from jumping, but they are unable to remove the device from his body. Grant realizes that he needs to sacrifice himself to save millions of lives. He manages to lure Ellis and the device to the roof of Helios, where he uses all his strength to throw both of them into the open air.
The device explodes harmlessly in the atmosphere while Ellis falls to his death. Grant, however, is rescued by Trevor, who has arrived in a helicopter with a medical team.
The episode ends with the team celebrating their victory, but also mourning the loss of a teammate. The final scene shows them looking up at the sky, where they see a sign that the solar flare has arrived.
Overall, Travelers season 1 episode 6 is a thrilling and suspenseful episode that showcases the team's dedication to their mission and their willingness to make sacrifices to save the world. The episode also explores the theme of family and the lengths that people will go to protect their loved ones.
