Travelers is a science fiction television series that follows a group of time travelers who come to the present day via consciousness transfer. The travelers inhabit the bodies of present-day people, attempting to change the course of history for the better. Season one episode three is titled Aleksander.
The episode opens with a jarring scene of a man walking through a park, only to suddenly collapse and die. We soon learn that this man is named Aleksander Andrieko and he was a brilliant physicist working on a top-secret project for the government. But before he died, he left a cryptic message for his wife, which has attracted the attention of the Travelers team.
Traveler 3468, who inhabits the body of a teenager named Philip, leads the team as they investigate Aleksander's death and try to decipher his message. They soon discover that the project Aleksander was working on could potentially be a catastrophic threat to the world.
As they dig deeper, the team also discovers that Aleksander had a fraught relationship with his wife, Helene. Through flashbacks, we see that Helene had been taking care of their sick daughter alone while Aleksander threw himself into his work. But as the project neared completion, Aleksander became increasingly paranoid and distant, causing a rift between them.
Meanwhile, Traveler 3468/Philip begins to experience severe headaches and strange visions. His fellow team members suspect that these may be residual memories from Philip's original consciousness and fear that they could compromise the mission.
As the team races against the clock to stop the dangerous project from going forward, tension rises between them and their ally, FBI agent Grant MacLaren, who seems to be keeping secrets of his own.
