Maura is invited to give a seminar for her trans friends after the release of her book. Meanwhile, Ali lands a job assisting a famous feminist writer, whom she deeply admires. Josh seeks advice from a rabbi as he struggles to connect with his son Colton, who is still reeling from coming out to him as a born-again Christian. Flashbacks reveal Maura's relationship with her college girlfriend, and how it ultimately led to the demise of their friendship. Sarah, feeling guilty about her affair with Tammy, decides to pack up her belongings from Tammy's house, but not before making a bold demand. Ultimately, each character is forced to confront their own vulnerabilities and insecurities, leading to both moments of raw honesty and painful self-reflection. The episode ends with a surprise announcement that shakes the family to its core.
