Ep 24. Patch

In "Transformers: Prime" season 2 episode 24, "Patch," the Autobots continue to search for the three remaining Iacon relics, but their task is complicated when a Decepticon bounty hunter named Steeljaw arrives on Earth and begins hunting them down. Meanwhile, Optimus Prime struggles with a mysterious malfunction in his systems, which threatens to compromise his ability to lead the Autobots.

As the episode begins, the Autobots are on the hunt for the next Iacon relic, a patch that gives its wearer the ability to control machines. However, their search is interrupted when Steeljaw suddenly appears and attacks them. The Autobots manage to drive him off, but they realize that he will be a constant threat as long as they are on Earth.

Meanwhile, Optimus begins experiencing strange glitches in his systems, including memory lapses and delayed responses. He is hesitant to tell the other Autobots, but they soon figure out that something is wrong when they witness Optimus making uncharacteristic mistakes. The Autobots are even more concerned when Ratchet examines Optimus and discovers that his condition is getting worse by the minute.

Despite Optimus's protests, the Autobots decide to split up in order to search for the Iacon relic and keep one step ahead of Steeljaw. Bulkhead and Arcee head to a nearby power plant in search of the patch, while Optimus, Bumblebee, and Smokescreen continue to search elsewhere. However, they are ambushed by Steeljaw and a group of Decepticons, and barely manage to escape with their lives.

Back at base, Ratchet struggles to diagnose Optimus's condition. He determines that the problem is not physical, but rather a result of a virus that has infected Optimus's systems. The virus is gradually erasing Optimus's memories and other essential data, and there is no known cure.

As the Autobots regroup and plan their next move, they receive a transmission from Steeljaw, who claims to have captured Bulkhead and Arcee and demands that the Autobots hand over the relic in exchange for their safety. Optimus, realizing that this is the perfect opportunity to get the upper hand on Steeljaw, agrees to the deal.

Optimus, Bumblebee, and Smokescreen travel to meet Steeljaw at a deserted factory. They hand over the patch, but before Steeljaw can make his escape, Optimus triggers a nearby conveyor belt and causes an explosion that traps Steeljaw and his minions. The Autobots retrieve the patch and free Bulkhead and Arcee, but their success is bittersweet when they realize that Optimus's condition has worsened.

In the final scene of the episode, the Autobots gather around Optimus to say their goodbyes, as they fear that he may not survive the virus. However, Optimus surprises them all when he suddenly regains his memory and declares that he knows how to defeat the Decepticons and find the remaining Iacon relics. The episode ends on a cliffhanger, leaving viewers eagerly anticipating the next installment of the series.
