Angels Monica, Tess, and Andrew are back on Earth for another episode of Touched By An Angel. In season 5 episode 4, titled "What Are Friends For?", the angels come to the rescue of a young woman named Julie, who has just been released from prison after serving time for a crime she did not commit.
Julie is grateful to be released from prison, but quickly realizes that her old life has moved on without her. She doesn't have a home, a job, or anyone to turn to for support. Feeling alone and hopeless, Julie is on the verge of giving up when the angels intervene.
Monica and Andrew are tasked with helping Julie find a place to stay and a job. They introduce her to a kind woman named Ms. Simmons who runs a group home for women. Ms. Simmons takes Julie in and helps her get back on her feet. Soon, Julie starts to feel like she has a purpose again.
However, Julie's old friends begin to reappear in her life, trying to drag her back into their criminal activities. They pressure her to help them with a robbery and even threaten her when she refuses. Julie is torn between her loyalty to her old friends and her desire to stay on the straight and narrow path.
Meanwhile, Tess is on a mission of her own. She is trying to help a young boy named Sammy, who has lost both of his parents. Sammy is living with his aunt and uncle, but they are struggling to make ends meet. Tess enlists the help of a kind-hearted business owner named Mr. Johnston, who gives Sammy's uncle a job.
As the episode progresses, both Julie and Sammy face difficult choices that will impact the rest of their lives. Luckily, the angels are there to guide and support them every step of the way.
"What Are Friends For?" is an emotional episode that explores themes of redemption, loyalty, and the power of friendship. Viewers will be touched by the heartwarming moments and inspired by the angels' unwavering commitment to their mission.
