Ep 10. Mommies Dearest

In the episode "Mommies Dearest" of the animated television series Totally Spies season 2, the spies Clover, Sam, and Alex are assigned a top-secret mission by Jerry, their boss at the World Organization of Human Protection (WOOHP). The task at hand is to investigate a peculiar case where mothers of various countries worldwide have started disappearing without any explanation. Clover, Sam, and Alex set off to Paris, the first location where mothers went missing, to investigate the matter. However, to their surprise, the person responsible for stealing the mothers turns out to be their close friend, Mandy. Mandy is a selfish individual who is usually at odds with Clover, Alex, and Sam but is also a mother's daughter.

Mandy reveals to the spies that her mother, a wealthy businesswoman, has neglected her throughout her childhood, causing deep emotional scars and resentment towards her despite having a luxurious lifestyle. She has finally devised a plan to abduct wealthy mothers worldwide and demand a ransom from their children, intending to obtain an absurd amount of money to live a life of luxury permanently.

The spies soon realize that Mandy has made a grave mistake, and since she's technically a kidnapper, she could go to jail for the rest of her life. They convince Mandy to change her mind and point out that it's better to address her issues with her mother in a more positive manner. The three spies encourage her to reconcile with her mom and try to create a better relationship with her, and they convince her to return all the moms safely to their homes.

Mandy understands the gravity of her crime and agrees to follow the spies' advice. She hands over the mothers to Clover, Sam, and Alex and apologizes for her actions. They take all the mothers back to their respective countries, and the moms reunite with their children, much to their delight. Mandy meets with her mother and tries to mend their relationship by apologizing and expressing her feelings to her mom. Her mother is initially skeptical of Mandy's intentions but eventually forgives her after listening to Mandy's heartfelt speech.

Finally, back at WOOHP, Jerry commends the spies for their exemplary work and initiates a plan to modify the organization's mission to address kidnap cases caused by personal issues instead of punishing the kidnappers. They decide it is better to resolve the underlying issue of these types of crimes as it can lead to a safer society in the long run, and to have a chance to heal deep underlying emotional scars. The episode concludes with the spies reflecting on their mission and acknowledging the importance of relationships with family members and how it affects our lives.
