In Torchwood season 3 episode 2, titled "Children of Earth - Part 2," the team are left reeling from the realization that the 456, an extraterrestrial race that made contact with Earth in the past, has returned and demands 10% of Earth's children as a tribute. The British government agrees, and despite Torchwood's efforts to stop them, the children begin to vanish.

As the team investigates the disappearances, they learn that the children are being taken to a collection point in London, where they will be transported to the 456's ship. Torchwood manages to follow the transport and infiltrate the ship, where they discover the true purpose of the 456's mission.
