In the third episode of Top Gear season 2, the hosts Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond embark on a series of thrilling challenges and adventures. The episode opens with the hosts putting three of Europe's finest hot-hatchbacks — the Renault Clio 182, Fiat Panda 100HP, and Citroen C2 VTS – through their paces in a series of tests to determine which one is the best.
Following this, the trio are seen travelling to Northern France to test some of the most iconic engines ever made. Here, they put 3 of the most famous engines ever made – the Jaguar V12, BMW M1, and Oselli-tuned MG B-Series – through their paces in a series of stunts and races. The hosts also sit down with two of the engines' designers for an insightful interview into the making of these performance beasts.
As usual, in this episode, the hosts attempt to set new records in their "Star in a Reasonably Priced Car" segment. They test the skills of popular comedian Eddie Izzard and Olympic athlete Kelly Holmes as they attempt to set the fastest lap time on the Top Gear test track.
Later, the guys head back to the Top Gear studio to hold a classic car auction, showcasing some of the world's most iconic vintage vehicles. The trio examines some of the priciest cars in the world, including a 1930s Bentley and a 1960s Ferrari.
The episode concludes with the presenters taking on one of their biggest challenges to date – The James Bond Car Challenge. The trio attempt to recreate their favorite scenes from the James Bond franchise using some of the most iconic cars from the films, including the Aston Martin Vanquish from Die Another Day and the BMW Z8 from The World Is Not Enough. The presenters battle it out to see who can perform the most daring stunt and become the ultimate Bond.
Overall, the third episode of Top Gear season 2 is filled with thrilling challenges and exciting adventures as the presenters push themselves and their vehicles to the limits.
