Ep 1. Burning Visions

Todd McFarlane's Spawn is an animated television series based on the comic book character of the same name, created by Todd McFarlane. The first episode of season 1 is titled Burning Visions and it introduces us to the main character, Spawn.

The episode opens with a man named Al Simmons, a military operative who has just returned from a mission in North Korea. Al is confronted by his boss, Jason Wynn, who informs him that he has just been promoted to a top-secret operation. The next day, Al and his partner are on a mission to retrieve a package in a dangerous part of the city. They are ambushed by Wynn's men, and Al is fatally injured. As he dies, Al remembers his promise to Wanda.

Suddenly, Al wakes up in a place called the Necroplasm. He is met by a demon named Malebolgia who tells him that he has been resurrected as a Hellspawn, a warrior to do Malebolgia's bidding. Malebolgia tells Al that he can see Wanda again, but only if he follows Malebolgia's orders.

As the episode continues, Al discovers his new powers and learns to control them. He uses them to seek revenge on those who betrayed him, including his former boss Jason Wynn. At the same time, he tries to reconnect with Wanda, who is struggling to cope with the loss of her husband.

The animation in Burning Visions is stunning, with dark, moody colors and a gritty, film noir feel. The character designs are impressive, especially for Spawn himself, who is a striking and imposing figure. The voice acting is also excellent, with Keith David giving a powerful and nuanced performance as Spawn.

Overall, Burning Visions is an excellent introduction to the world of Todd McFarlane's Spawn. It sets the stage for a dark and compelling story, with plenty of action and drama.
