Ep 1. Titans

Titans is a live-action television series that premiered on DC Universe on October 12, 2018. It follows the adventures of a group of superheroes who come together to form a team known as the Titans. The first episode, aptly named "Titans," sets the foundation for this gritty and action-packed series.

The episode opens in Detroit, where we meet a young Rachel Roth (Teagan Croft) who is struggling with supernatural powers she doesn't understand. Raven, as she is better known, is awakened by a nightmare and decides to go investigate her neighborhood. There, she witnesses a man being brutally beaten to death by a group of thugs. In her shock, she accidentally uses her powers, causing a burst of energy that kills the attackers. Terrified and alone, Raven runs away, determined to find someone who can help her understand her powers.

Meanwhile, in San Francisco, we meet Detective Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites), who is investigating a case involving an organization that traffics women and children. Grayson, a former acrobat and ward of Bruce Wayne, is haunted by his past and struggles to balance his job with his alter ego, Robin. As Robin, he takes down the traffickers with ease, using his fighting skills to inflict pain and fear. However, he is soon contacted by Raven, who asks for his help in understanding her powers.

Grayson reluctantly agrees to help Raven and travels to Detroit to meet her. There, he discovers that she is being hunted by a powerful organization called the Church of Blood, which wants to use her powers for their own gain. Together, they go on the run, hiding from the Church and trying to figure out how to stop them.

As the episode progresses, we also meet two other heroes who will eventually join the Titans' ranks: Koriand'r (Anna Diop), a powerful alien who is suffering from amnesia, and Gar Logan (Ryan Potter), a teenage shapeshifter who can turn into any animal he desires.

The first episode of Titans sets the tone for the series, which is much darker and grittier than other superhero shows. The action is intense and brutal, with plenty of blood and gore. The characters themselves are complex and flawed, with their own demons to battle. Grayson, in particular, struggles with his identity as both a detective and a vigilante, and his interactions with Raven are both heartwarming and heartbreaking.

Overall, "Titans" is a promising start to what is sure to be an exciting and action-packed series. The characters are engaging, the action is intense, and the storyline is intriguing. Fans of the DC Universe will not want to miss this show.
