In Tiny House Nation season 5 episode 20, titled "230 Sq. Ft. Travel Well House," host John Weisbarth and expert Zack Giffin travel to Oregon to meet their latest clients, David and Jennifer. The couple has always been interested in the tiny house movement and decided to downsize their lives and build their own tiny home.
David is a former musician and now owns a company that designs and builds electric guitars. Jennifer is a physical therapist who often travels for work. With their busy schedules, they wanted a home that they could take on the road with them without sacrificing any of the comforts of a traditional home.
Their tiny house, named the Travel Well House, is a beautifully crafted 230 square foot home that incorporates all of their needs into a small space. The exterior of the house is clad in cedar siding and features a unique metal roof that can fold down for travel. The house sits on a trailer and has been designed to be completely self-sufficient, with solar panels and a rainwater collection system.
Inside the house, the first thing that catches the eye is the stunning exposed wood ceiling. The living area features a comfortable couch and a pull-out dining table that can be used as a workspace or for entertaining guests. The kitchen is fully equipped with a large fridge, a propane stove, and plenty of storage space.
One of the most unique features of the Travel Well House is the musical loft. David's passion for music is evident throughout the home, with old amplifiers and vinyl records used as decoration. The loft area provides a space for David to play his guitars and features a fold-down desk that can be used for work or writing music.
The bedroom is located on a platform above the kitchen and features a cozy full-sized bed. The bathroom, while small, is fully functional and has been designed with a curved shower door to maximize space.
Throughout the episode, John and Zack work with David and Jennifer to make the most of the limited space in their home. They build a custom storage solution for their guitars and create a sliding ladder for easy access to the loft. The team also helps David and Jennifer choose furniture that is both functional and visually appealing.
As with all episodes of Tiny House Nation, "230 Sq. Ft. Travel Well House" showcases the ingenuity and creativity that goes into designing and building a tiny home. David and Jennifer's Travel Well House is not only a beautiful and functional space but a reflection of their unique passions and interests.
