Tinga Tinga Tales is an animated children's show that follows various animal characters in the African savannah, each with their own quirks and origins. In season 1, episode 20, titled "Why Spider Has a Tiny Waist," we follow the story of how Spider became the svelte, and cunning creature we know today.

The episode opens with Elephant, who is eager to show off his strength and size to the other animals. However, when he tries to fit through a narrow gap in a nearby rock formation, he becomes stuck and cannot free himself. The other animals try to help him, but are unable to move him. That's where Spider comes in.

Spider tells the animals that he has a secret to making Elephant smaller and able to fit through the gap - a waist-band. The other animals scoff at the idea, but Spider insists. He tells the animals he will need to borrow materials from them to create the waist-band, and they all agree to help.

Spider then begins to spin his web, creating a thin and stretchy material that he weaves together with leaves and grass to create Elephant's waist-band. After it's complete, he ties it tightly around Elephant's middle, and they give it a tug. To their amazement, Elephant shrinks down to a more manageable size and is able to easily fit through the gap!

The other animals are impressed by Spider's ingenuity and ask him how he came up with the idea for the waist-band. He tells them the story of how he used to be a much larger, more slothful creature who was always hungry and eating. One day, he ate too much and became stuck in a hole. To free himself, he had to spin his own web to make himself smaller, and from then on, he realized the power of a small waist.

The other animals are amazed by Spider's transformation and begin to ask him for fashion tips and advice on staying thin. Spider happily dispenses his knowledge and even agrees to make more waist-bands for them if they need it.

The episode ends with Elephant thanking Spider for his help and Spider feeling proud and content with his newfound status as a small and clever creature. The other animals resume their daily activities, their respect for Spider growing with each passing day.

Overall, "Why Spider Has a Tiny Waist" is a fun and engaging episode that teaches kids about problem-solving and thinking outside the box. It also highlights the importance of being healthy and fit without resorting to extreme measures, showcasing Spider as a role model for children.
