Timothy Goes to School is a children's animated television series based on the books by Rosemary Wells. The show follows the adventures of Timothy, a young raccoon, as he navigates the ups and downs of kindergarten with his classmates at Hilltop School.
In episode 5 of season 1, titled "Paint By Numbers / The Sleepover," Timothy and his friends are excited to participate in the Hilltop School art show. The theme of the show is "paint by numbers," and each student is assigned a number that corresponds to a specific color. Timothy is thrilled to receive the number 14, which is green, his favorite color.
Timothy and his best friend Yoko work together on their painting, but run into trouble when Yoko accidentally spills green paint all over Timothy's canvas. They attempt to cover up the mistake with other colors, but it only makes the painting look worse. With the art show deadline approaching, Timothy becomes upset and wonders if he should just start over.
Meanwhile, the other students are working on their paintings, but Lilly is having trouble focusing. She keeps getting distracted by her classmates and can't seem to finish her painting. Mrs. Jenkins, the kindergarten teacher, suggests that Lilly participate in a sleepover with her friends to help her relax and find her focus.
The sleepover takes place at Fritz's house, but the night doesn't go exactly as planned. Fritz's little brother keeps interrupting the sleepover, and everyone is too scared to sleep when they hear strange noises outside. With the help of Mrs. Jenkins, they all calm down and manage to get some rest.
The next day, it's time for the art show. Timothy is still upset about his painting, but his friends encourage him to display it anyway. When the judges see Timothy's painting, they are impressed by the unique use of colors and award Timothy and Yoko with first prize.
Meanwhile, Lilly's sleepover seems to have helped her focus, as her painting turns out beautifully. She is proud of her work and Mrs. Jenkins tells her that she should be proud of herself as well.
Overall, "Paint By Numbers / The Sleepover" is a heartwarming episode that emphasizes the importance of friendship and perseverance. Timothy and his friends learn valuable lessons about creativity, working together, and finding relaxation techniques that work for them.
