Timothy Goes to School is an animated children's television series that follows the life of a young raccoon named Timothy as he navigates the ups and downs of school life. In season 1 episode 11, titled Taking The Plunge / Timothy's Way, Timothy and his classmates are faced with two very different challenges.
In the first half of the episode, Taking The Plunge, Timothy and his classmates are excited to go on a field trip to a local pool. Timothy is particularly anxious, but with the encouragement of his teacher and his friends, he decides to give it a try. However, as soon as he dips his toes in the water, he quickly changes his mind and decides he doesn't want to swim after all. Yoko tries to convince him to come in, but Timothy is too scared. The other students don't want him to miss out on all the fun, so they come up with a plan to help him overcome his fear.
As the episode progresses, Timothy's Way, the students work together to create a makeshift pool in the classroom, complete with a diving board and a slide. Timothy is thrilled to be able to participate in his own way and is amazed at the creativity of his classmates. The makeshift pool turns out to be so much fun that the other students start to get jealous and wish they had thought of it first.
Throughout the episode, Timothy learns an important lesson about facing his fears and finding his own way to participate. He realizes that he doesn't have to do things exactly the way everyone else does and that there are always alternative ways to have fun and participate in activities.
