- November 18, 1996
Timon & Pumbaa is an American animated television series created by Walt Disney Television Animation. The show follows the adventures of Timon, a meerkat, and Pumbaa, a warthog, as they travel the world and get into silly, comedic situations. In season 3 episode 22, titled "No Good Samaritan / Living in De Nile," Timon and Pumbaa find themselves in two separate escapades.
In the first segment, "No Good Samaritan," Timon and Pumbaa come across a remote village that's being terrorized by a wild animal. The villagers plead with the duo to track down and capture the beast, but Timon and Pumbaa aren't interested in getting involved. However, after some persuasion, they agree to help out. Their plan involves capturing the animal and then selling it to a traveling circus for a hefty sum of money.
However, things don't go as planned when they discover the animal - a giant gorilla - is actually friendly and has been protecting the village from a group of evil poachers. Timon and Pumbaa then become conflicted as to what to do as they have grown to like the gorilla and don't want to sell it to the circus.
In the second segment, "Living in De Nile," Timon and Pumbaa are on a boat cruise down the Nile River when they come across an ancient Egyptian pyramid. The duo, always on the lookout for adventure and treasure, decide to explore the pyramid. However, once inside, they accidentally awaken a group of mummies who have been sleeping for thousands of years.
The mummies then begin to chase after Timon and Pumbaa, who try to outrun them through the narrow passages and traps of the pyramid. During their escape, they come across a magical sarcophagus that can fulfill any wish. With the mummies hot on their tail, Timon and Pumbaa must decide what to wish for and if it's worth the danger they're in.
Overall, "No Good Samaritan / Living in De Nile" is a classic Timon & Pumbaa episode filled with humor, adventure, and hijinks. Viewers will be entertained as they watch the duo navigate their way through two separate but equally entertaining situations.
