Ep 15. Day of Disaster

On the episode called "Day of Disaster," viewers are in for a gripping ride. The episode opens with the Tracy brothers receiving a call from the London Airport Control Tower, which is experiencing problems with a new commercial airliner. The plane's pilot, Captain Hanson, reports that the plane has lost all of its hydraulic pressure and has to attempt an emergency landing.

The Tracy team springs into action. They dispatch Thunderbird 2 and 4 to the airport and Thunderbird 1 to follow the airliner. Thunderbird 2 arrives on scene first, and it's clear that things are worse than they were first thought. The runway is covered in thick fog, making it impossible for the plane to land safely.

Things go from bad to worse when the control tower reveals that there is a major gas pipeline that runs under the runway, and the gas company is unable to turn off the flow of gas. If the airliner crashes into the runway, it could cause the gas pipeline to rupture and cause major devastation and loss of life.

Meanwhile, Thunderbird 1 is keeping up with the airliner, which is circling above the airport waiting for clearance to land. The Tracy brothers are frantically trying to come up with a solution to keep the airliner aloft until the runway can be cleared. They come up with a risky plan that involves equipping the Thunderbird 2 with a device to clear the runway and divert the airliner onto a road nearby.

Thunderbird 2 manages to get on the runway and clear the fog, and with the help of Thunderbird 4, creates a makeshift roadway for the airliner to land safely. But just when it seems like they've avoided a disaster, another problem arises. The airliner's landing gear won't lock in place, which means that it will skid off the road and cause a collision with a fuel tanker.

The Tracy brothers, frantic to avoid a terrible tragedy, come up with another plan. They use Thunderbird 2's magnetic crane to remotely place the airliner's nose gear into place. It's a risky move, but it pays off. The airliner lands safely, avoiding a catastrophic explosion that would have resulted had it collided with the fuel tanker.

"Day of Disaster" is a thrilling episode, full of twists and turns. The Tracy brothers demonstrate once again why they're the world's best rescue team, utilizing their unique machinery and quick thinking to avert a major disaster. This episode also shows the enormous responsibility that the team has in protecting people's lives, as the smallest mistake could have had disastrous consequences. Fans of the series will be on the edge of their seat from beginning to end.
