Jack on the Lam is the first episode of season 4 of the classic sitcom Three's Company. The episode starts off with Jack (John Ritter) pretending to go on a weekend trip to San Francisco to see a sick friend so that he can meet a girl he met in a bar. However, after he spends the weekend with her, he realizes that he left his wallet in her apartment and doesn't have any money to get back home. Jack tries to sneak back into her apartment to retrieve his wallet, but the girl's roommate catches him and assumes he is a burglar. Jack quickly takes off, and the roommate calls the police, prompting Jack to go on the lam.
Meanwhile, Janet (Joyce DeWitt) and Chrissy (Suzanne Somers) are worried when they haven't heard from Jack and assume something is wrong. They call his friend Larry (Richard Kline), who tells them that Jack wasn't actually sick and that he went to meet a girl in a bar. Janet and Chrissy are furious with Jack for lying to them and decide to teach him a lesson. They pretend that they don't know where he is and instead, invite several of his male friends over to the apartment, hoping to make him jealous.
Of course, Jack eventually makes his way back to the apartment, only to find it filled with his friends and Chrissy and Janet acting like they don't care about him. Jack realizes that he messed up by lying to them and apologizes. They forgive him, but not before making him jump through a few hoops to prove that he learned his lesson.
Overall, Jack on the Lam is a classic episode of Three's Company, full of the kind of comedic misunderstandings and hijinks that made the show so beloved in the first place. Fans of the show will enjoy seeing some of their favorite characters back in action, and newcomers to the series will appreciate the hilarious and relatable situations that the characters find themselves in.
