As Chrissy prepares for a night out with her new boyfriend, Jack and Janet become increasingly worried about her safety. They try to persuade her to stay home, but Chrissy insists on going out and having a good time.
Meanwhile, Mr. Roper asks Jack to fix his leaky faucet, but Jack ends up causing even more problems when he accidentally floods the Ropers' apartment. When Mr. Roper returns home to find his apartment filled with water, he is not pleased and demands that Jack fix the damage immediately.
As Chrissy heads out for her night on the town, Jack and Janet's concerns escalate. They decide to follow her and keep an eye on her from a distance. However, their plan quickly goes awry when they start arguing with each other and lose track of Chrissy.
Feeling desperate, Jack and Janet resort to calling every bar in town in an attempt to locate Chrissy. Their efforts prove to be futile until they finally locate her at a local dance club. To their relief, they find Chrissy safe and sound, dancing the night away with her new boyfriend.
As they try to leave the club, the trio is stopped by a suspicious bouncer who demands to see ID. Chrissy realizes she left her ID at home and panics, thinking she won't be allowed to leave the club. Jack and Janet step in, using their quick thinking and hilarious antics to distract the bouncer long enough for Chrissy to slip out unnoticed.
Back at the apartment, Mr. Roper introduces his new tenants, a sweet older couple, to Jack and Janet. Jack is relived to learn the couple is hard of hearing, as this means they won't hear any of the noise coming from their apartment. However, things take a hilarious turn when the couple discovers Jack's blunder with the faucet and mistakes it for a musical performance.
In the end, Chrissy returns home safely and admits that she had a great time with her new boyfriend. Jack and Janet apologize for being overly protective, and the trio reflects on their crazy night out.
