Jack, Janet, and Chrissy's landlord Mr. Roper becomes convinced that Jack is gay after he sees him come out of the apartment of one of his male friends late at night. Despite Jack's protests of innocence, Mr. Roper remains suspicious, and his wife Helen suggests they invite Jack over for dinner to get to the truth.
Meanwhile, Chrissy invites her boss over for a date, but when her roommates accidentally spill spaghetti all over his suit, Jack offers to lend him some clothes. The only problem? The clothes are all stereotypically "gay" outfits, including a pink shirt and a tight pair of pants. When Chrissy's boss arrives at the apartment wearing Jack's clothes, Mr. Roper is convinced that he and Jack are lovers.
As the dinner party gets underway, tensions rise as Mr. Roper tries to catch Jack in the act of being gay. Jack, desperate to prove his innocence, enlists Janet and Chrissy's help in a series of increasingly ridiculous schemes to convince Mr. Roper that he's a ladies' man. Meanwhile, Chrissy's boss becomes increasingly uncomfortable in Jack's clothes and begins to suspect that something is not quite right.
Throughout the episode, misunderstandings and miscommunications abound as the characters try to navigate their way through this awkward situation. As the night wears on, it becomes increasingly clear that no one is quite what they seem, and that appearances can be deceiving. In the end, however, all is resolved, and the characters are left to reflect on the absurdity of the situation.
Overall, Strange Bedfellows is a hilarious and fast-paced episode of Three's Company that showcases the show's trademark blend of physical comedy, witty banter, and wacky misunderstandings. Whether you're a longtime fan of the series or a newcomer looking for a good laugh, this episode is sure to deliver the goods.
