In Three Stooges Collection season 5 episode 8, titled "Hold That Lion!", fans are treated to another hilarious and slapstick adventure featuring the trio of Moe, Larry, and Curly.
The episode opens with the Stooges working as animal trainers at a circus, where they are tasked with training a ferocious lion named "Fearless" to perform in the ring. Despite their best efforts, the lion proves to be a handful and the Stooges soon find themselves in a number of precarious situations as they try to keep him under control.
Things quickly go from bad to worse when a wealthy man named J.P. Morgan (played by actor Emory Parnell) arrives at the circus and demands to see Fearless perform. Though initially hesitant, the Stooges are forced to comply when Morgan threatens to sue the circus if they don't deliver on their promise to provide top-notch entertainment.
As the trio prepares Fearless for his performance in the ring, they soon learn that the lion has a rather unusual weakness – he loves hot peppers. With this knowledge in hand, the Stooges concoct a plan to get Fearless to perform by doping him up on a bunch of spicy peppers.
The ploy seems to work at first, as Fearless puts on an impressive show and wows the crowd with his tricks. However, things quickly devolve into chaos when Morgan reveals that he plans to take Fearless with him and add him to his private animal collection.
Desperate to stop him, the Stooges hatch yet another plan – this time involving a bunch of stolen hot peppers and an explosive surprise. In typical Three Stooges fashion, the plan goes awry and ends with the trio facing off against Fearless and Morgan in a wild and hilarious showdown.
Throughout the episode, viewers are treated to a bevy of classic Stooges gags and physical comedy, including plenty of eye pokes, face slaps, and pratfalls. The comedic timing and chemistry between Moe, Larry, and Curly are as sharp as ever, making for a laugh-out-loud viewing experience.
Overall, "Hold That Lion!" is a fun and lighthearted episode that showcases the best of what the Three Stooges had to offer. Whether you're a die-hard fan of the classic comedy trio or simply looking for a good chuckle, this episode is definitely worth watching.
