In Three Stooges Collection season 5 episode 1, titled "A Bird In The Head," the trio of Larry, Moe, and Curly find themselves working as doctors in a hospital. Their incompetence and lack of medical knowledge lead them into some hilarious mishaps as they attempt to treat patients.
The episode begins with the Stooges arriving at the hospital for their first day of work. They are greeted by the stern head nurse, who warns them that they must follow hospital protocol and work hard if they want to keep their jobs. The Stooges, of course, immediately get into trouble, as they accidentally knock over a tray of surgical instruments and cause chaos in the operating room.
Their first patient is a wealthy man named Mr. Morgan, who has a bird stuck in his hair. Despite their best efforts, the Stooges struggle to remove the bird, and end up causing Mr. Morgan even more pain and discomfort. Eventually, they resort to a series of comical tricks and traps to try and capture the bird, but their efforts are largely unsuccessful.
As the day goes on, the Stooges continue to bumble their way through their duties, causing chaos and confusion wherever they go. They accidentally give a patient the wrong medication, mix up x-rays, and even end up stuck in an elevator with a pregnant woman who goes into labor.
Throughout the episode, the Stooges also have to deal with the hospital's tyrannical chief of staff, Dr. Dippy, who is constantly yelling at them and threatening to fire them. Despite their best efforts to please Dr. Dippy, they continue to get into trouble and make mistakes.
Despite all of the chaos and mishaps, the Stooges eventually manage to remove the bird from Mr. Morgan's hair, and he is so grateful that he gives them a hefty tip. The trio celebrate their success by throwing a wild party in the hospital, complete with dancing, singing, and general mayhem.
Overall, "A Bird In The Head" is a classic Three Stooges episode that showcases the trio's signature brand of slapstick humor. Fans of the show will love watching Larry, Moe, and Curly get into one ridiculous situation after another, and the episode is sure to leave them laughing out loud.
