The Three Stooges Collection's fourth season, episode 17 is called Three Pests in a Mess. The episode is about Moe, Larry, and Curly, who make a living doing pest control. They're called to a luxurious mansion where they have to fend off plenty of mischievous rodents. They get to work quickly, but soon realize that they're up against rats with a considerable appetite. The rodents invade homes and feast on anything they can find. The Stooges have their work cut out for them as they try and outsmart the pests that keep avoiding their traps.
Moe, Larry, and Curly are on the job. As always, they're dressed in their working attire, complete with caps and jumpsuits, ready to catch the mice. They meet the owner of the mansion who complains about the pesky visitors that have taken over his home. The man is bitter, and it shows in his attitude towards the Stooges. The three brush off the negative energy and get to work by setting up different traps to capture the pests.
The rats are very slick, and the Stooges have a tough task ahead of them. They soon realize that the rodents are intelligent enough to outsmart them by avoiding most of the traps that they set. The three begin to explore alternative ways of catching the rodents. They start thinking outside the box. The three use several comical techniques, including riding a bicycle generator on top of a pool table to attract the mice to a trap. The Stooges also find ways to catch rats and have fun in the process, despite the challenges they face.
Things take a hilarious turn when the trio starts chasing and smashing mice with frying pans and other kitchen utensils. They bump each other as they try to capture the vermin, leading to several laugh-out-loud moments. It gets crazier as they begin to knock down everything in sight, including lamps and furniture.
Eventually, the Stooges' unconventional and bizarre methods lead to success. They finally round up and catch all the pests, and the owner of the mansion is happy to see that his home is now free from rodents. But just as they think all is well, they make an unpleasant discovery. In the final scene, the Stooges stumble upon a pesky stray cat that had been preying on the rodents. The cat puts the trio in a challenging position, and the episode ends on a cliffhanger.
