In season 3 episode 13 of the Three Stooges Collection, titled "I'll Never Heil Again," the trio finds themselves in yet another zany adventure. This episode originally aired on December 28, 1941.
The short begins with the Stooges as sidewalk salesmen selling fake jewelry. Just as they convince a customer to purchase their wares, they are interrupted by a man in a military uniform. The man tells the Stooges that he is a spy and is looking for a secret map. The Stooges, thinking he is joking, brush him off, but he insists that they have the map and demands that they turn it over to him.
The Stooges, confused by the man's request, eventually realize that they do indeed have a map in their possession. They then proceed to destroy it, not realizing its true value and importance. It is later revealed that the map they destroyed was actually a secret message that could have potentially ended World War II.
After destroying the map, the Stooges unknowingly become enemies of the government and are soon after chased by Nazi spies. The trio ends up taking refuge in a castle, which they believe to be an abandoned property. Little do they know, the castle is actually occupied by a group of Nazi soldiers led by their ruthless leader, Herman Schlopkopf.
Upon discovering their mistake, the Stooges decide to disguise themselves as Nazi soldiers to avoid being captured. Once inside the castle, they meet Schlopkopf and his minions, who are holding a meeting to discuss their plan to invade America. The Stooges, not realizing the gravity of the situation, eagerly join the meeting and are eventually tasked with guarding a secret weapon.
Unbeknownst to the Stooges, the weapon is actually a bomb that is set to detonate when a certain song is played. Chaos ensues as the Stooges race to prevent the bomb from exploding, all while still trying to maintain their disguise as Nazi soldiers.
"I'll Never Heil Again" is a classic Three Stooges episode that combines their signature slapstick humor with a World War II theme. The episode highlights the trio's ability to create laughter out of the most serious situations, and the chemistry between Moe, Larry, and Curly is as strong as ever.
Throughout the episode, the Stooges utilize their trademark physical humor to comedic effect. From absurd disguise attempts to silly weapons, the three bring their unique style to the war-themed story.
Despite the ridiculous nature of the episode's plot, "I'll Never Heil Again" also subtly emphasizes the importance of patriotism and loyalty to one's country. The Stooges may be hapless, but they ultimately show their allegiance to America by risking their lives to prevent the Nazi invasion.
Overall, "I'll Never Heil Again" is a must-watch episode for any Three Stooges fan. It showcases the trio's comedic talents, while also providing a lighthearted take on a serious topic.
