The Three Stooges Collection season 2 episode 19, A-Ducking They Did Go, follows Larry, Moe, and Curly in a comedic romp through the world of construction. The trio is hired as wallpaper hangers by a wealthy woman named Mrs. Smythe-Smythe, who lives in a mansion that is currently undergoing renovations. The stooges, being the clumsy and accident-prone characters that they are, end up causing chaos and destruction on the construction site.
As soon as they arrive, the stooges get to work on hanging the wallpaper in the living room. However, their lack of experience in construction quickly becomes apparent, as they accidentally rip the paper and spill the wallpaper paste all over the floor. They attempt to clean up the mess, but only make it worse by dripping more paste onto the floor and getting stuck in the sticky substance themselves.
Their next job is to put up a chandelier in the dining room. This proves to be a difficult task, as they continuously drop it and damage the crystal pieces. Moe even accidentally shatters a vase while trying to catch the chandelier. When Mrs. Smythe-Smythe comes in to check on their progress, she is horrified by the destruction they have caused.
The stooges are then tasked with digging a hole in the backyard for a swimming pool. They use a duck to locate a water source, but the duck ends up pecking and harassing them instead. They begin to chase the duck, which leads to them destroying both the backyard and the house itself. The chaos culminates in a scene where the stooges are being chased by a bulldozer and eventually end up buried in the hole they were digging.
Throughout the episode, there are several comedic moments that the Three Stooges are known for, such as slapstick humor, physical comedy, and absurd situations. Their antics are contrasted with the elegant and sophisticated world of Mrs. Smythe-Smythe, providing a humorous clash of social classes.
In the end, the stooges are fired and left to clean up the mess they have made. While attempting to wallpaper the living room again, they accidentally glue themselves to the walls and ceiling. This scene, along with several others, provides a classic example of the Three Stooges' unique brand of comedy.
A-Ducking They Did Go is a classic episode of The Three Stooges, showcasing their signature style of humor and zany antics. Fans of the show will appreciate the physical comedy and absurdity of the situations the trio finds themselves in.
