Ep 7. Chapter 07: Capsule

In Chapter 07: Capsule, the seventh episode of the first season of the Brazilian dystopian thriller series 3 Percent, the tension is palpable. The episode starts with a flashback to years ago when we see Ezequiel as a boy, visiting the offshore. He is amazed by the technology and the different choices he could make if he got selected. The adult Ezequiel wakes up from a nightmare and realizes that he could be next on the list to go undercover after everything that happened to Rafael.

Meanwhile, Michele, Fernando, Joana, and Marco are trying to infiltrate the offshore. They get in a capsule and are shipped offshore. In the capsule, they discuss what they are about to do. Marco shows a document that outlines his plan to take the Founder's Office and asks for their help. Joana thinks it’s insane, but Michele supports him and shows him a microchip that her brother gave her that would allow them to level the playing field.

Once they arrive offshore and enter the Offshore’s gathering room, Cesar greets them. He introduces them to his friends, including Glória and Natália, who invite them to a party. Joana is hesitant about partying with the enemy, but they all agree, and the group parties with Eduardo and Rafael. During the party, Joana and Rafael flirt, and Rafael tells her about his role, monitoring rebellions.

Later on, during a tour of the Offshore, Fernando breaks off from the group to plant a coin in the Founder’s Office. He is successful in planting the coin, but then he sees something shocking that suggests something more sinister about the Offshore's inner workings. When they return to the party, Cesar questions their motives for being there because he has never seen anyone infiltrate the Offshore before. They cover their tracks, but he continues to probe them for answers about their motives.

Despite the group's nerves, Marco remains determined to take the Founder's Office. But when they try to enter the office, they are met with a locked door and are forced to improvise. As they try to break in, Joana and Rafael continue to flirt, but Rafael's morals are tested when he receives an order from Ezequiel not to let Joana out alive.

As they proceed with the break-in, Michele realizes that her brother's hack is causing problems. Back in the Inland, the rest of the rebel alliance receives a mysterious message from someone who claims to have information about the Offshore. They are hesitant to trust him, but he gives them the name of a contact offshore.

The episode ends with the group still trying to break into the Founder's Office, and a tense scene between Rafael and Joana. As the season's penultimate episode, Chapter 07: Capsule sets the stage for the finale, with the group's plan hanging by a thread, and Rafael's loyalties in question. The stakes are high, and each passing moment brings a new challenge for our protagonists as they fight for a better life offshore.
