Thomas & Friends Classic season 4 episode 7 consists of two separate stories, "Passengers and Polish" and "Gallant Old Engine."
In "Passengers and Polish," the railway station is getting ready for a special visit from the railway inspector. The engines are all being polished and shined to perfection, but James is feeling left out. He thinks he's already the most beautiful engine and doesn't need any more polish. However, when the inspector arrives, the other engines' extra polish makes James feel left out and sad. But when Toby needs help with his passengers, James steps in to save the day and learns that being useful is more important than being the shiniest.
In "Gallant Old Engine," the visitors to the railway are brought back to the days before the engines were electric. They hear the story of a brave little steam locomotive named Old Slow Coach who used to run on one of the railways many years ago. Old Slow Coach is now retired and used as a summerhouse, but her tale inspires the engines to be brave and determined just like she was. Later, when Percy encounters a difficult obstacle and can't continue his journey, Old Slow Coach comes to the rescue in a surprising way.
Overall, this episode features themes of bravery, helpfulness, and the importance of being useful rather than just looking good. Fans of Thomas & Friends Classic will enjoy seeing some of the older engines taking center stage and inspiring the newer ones to be their best.
